RZ HH Tienen opts for Forcea and implements HealthReport
The Regionaal Ziekenhuis Heilig Hart Tienen (Sacred Heart Regional Hospital, Thienen), which has 331 accredited beds spread over three sites, recently appointed Forcea to develop its strategy on data warehousing and business intelligence.

Of Forcea’s 17 hospital references, RZ Heilig Hart Tienen is it 8th client to introduce Oazis as its hospital information system (HIS). Along with Oazis, Xtenso is the Belgian market leader in hospital information systems. Forcea and Xtenso signed a strategic collaborative agreement in 2007 to enable them to provide the best possible guidance for their common clients and support them in the area of business intelligence and data warehousing.

"Patient administration (ADT) and billing are usually the first areas that a hospital aims to open up with policy information. But the vision of Forcea and its clients consists of incorporating all areas of the hospital as part of the HealthReport data warehouse. We already provide business intelligence solutions for MCR (medical and nursing data), finance and budget management, pharmacy management, the fixed-pay system for medicines, doctor administration, pre-billing, Finhosta and antibiotics policy. This year solutions for staff administration, staff planning and the operating theatres are also being integrated into the HealthReport data warehouse model. A hospital needs an all-embracing business intelligence solution to be able to monitor and adjust its policy in a coordinating way," emphasises Frank Swaelens, Managing Partner and Commercial Director at Forcea.

Sint-Trudo Regional Hospital enhances its business intelligence by introducing Forcea HealthReport
Sint-Trudo Regional Hospital is a dynamic amalgamated medical facility in Sint-Truiden, with 310 acute beds and a staff in excess of 700, including approximately 90 doctors. The hospital recently selected Forcea to design and develop its datawarehouse and to handle its need for dependable, comprehensive business intelligence information that is always up to the minute.

Sint-Trudo RH requires a daily automated update of policy information to enable it to operate properly. To meet that need, Forcea has developed a direct link with the Partezis Azis 1 hospital information system.

In practical terms, this means that Forcea has added the Azis 1 / AX Ware data source to the already existing interfaces of the HealthReport datawarehouse with modules for ADT (patient management) and TarFac (charges and billing). This involves interfaces with:

1. OAZIS from Xtenso
2. CPO / WISH from IBM
3. Sibelmed from Siemens/Partezis
4. Azis 2 / SAP IS-H Patient Management from Siemens/Partezis
5. Various homemade hospital information system applications

“This is precisely the enormous advantage of the HealthReport solution for business intelligence: it operates totally independently from the data source,” points out Frank Swaelens, Managing Partner and Commercial Director at Forcea. “When a hospital decides to migrate its hospital information system, for example from Azis 1 to OAZIS, the only thing that needs adjusting is the datawarehouse interface. The various reporting and analysis applications developed with the datawarehouse (scorecarding, dashboarding, etc.) do not experience any impact at all from the change of source system.”
