Forcea scores place as finalist at presentation of IBM’s Beacon Awards in the category for Outstanding Business Analytics Innovation with the Forcea Hospital Hummingbird benchmark platform

On 1st March 2013, Forcea was a finalist for the IBM Beacon Awards in the category for Outstanding Business Analytics Innovation as part of the IBM PartnerWorld Leadership Conference in Las Vegas. Through this nomination, IBM acknowledged the Forcea Hospital Hummingbird benchmark platform as a high-quality solution that takes an innovative approach to the challenges of the sector.
Forcea’s first ‘Forcea Hospital Hummingbird People Performance’ benchmark solution was first offered to Belgian hospitals in December 2011. A year later, 23 hospitals were already using it to benchmark staffing at their hospitals. Since then, the platform has been expanded to include benchmarks on medical and nursing data and the consumption of medication, as well as to provide a benchmark on budgeting financial resources. More than 50 Belgian hospitals participate in at least one of these 5 benchmarks.

The Forcea Hospital Hummingbird benchmark solution is provided as ‘Software As A Service’ (Saas). This means that the client does not have to install any software itself, but merely requires a web browser to be able to use the solution. The benchmarking reports are produced with IBM Cognos BI softwareIBM Cognos TM1 is used for simulations and entering data. As a result, the solution is 100% IBM-based.
